Description
A pretty, lightweight square shawl in two sizes (S/L) for baby, worked in allover rosebud patterns from the center out in the round. The eyelet motifs used throughout are easy to work with all-knit rest rows in between. Pretty as a picture, it is also practical, when knit up in soft, machine washable fingering yarn.

Suggested Yarns: Finn Dandy 3-ply Sport, Modern Deco Lace, Better Breakfast Fingering, Stone Soup Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, Jacob Fingering, or any soft, smooth fingering yarn with approximately 425 yards per 100 grams. Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.
Finished Size: 36(45) inches square (stretched lightly and blocked)
Yarn Requirements: 1000(1650) yds
Gauge: 24 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on larger needle (unblocked)
Needles:
size 4 US (3.5 mm) circular needles (or size to obtain correct gauge) in 16, 24, and 32 inch lengths; DPNs same size as body needle for center start
size 3 US (3.25 mm) circular needles (or one size smaller than body needle) in 32 or 40 inch length; DPNs same size as edging needle
