Description

This adorable shawl in three sizes (Petite/Medium/Tall) begins at the neck with a plaid motif which segues into a series of classic gansey knit/purl patterns; the hem is finished by a flirty ruffle. Easy-to-work motifs make this piece a good traveler or a great beginner shawl project. 
 
Suggested Yarns: 
Stone Soup Fingering, Better Breakfast Fingering, Shetlandia Fingering, Jacob Fingering, Finn Dandy Sport, Seasons Fingering, or any springy fingering yarn which has approximately 425 yards per 4 ounces.

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size and drape.

23(28, 32) inches long at center back and 60(72, 80) inches wide across top edge (blocked)

600(850, 1100) yards

Gauge: 
24 sts and 34 rows = 4 inches in stockinette, knit flat (unblocked)

Needles: 
size 4US (3.5 mm) or size to obtain correct gauge; DPNs in same size for grafting (optional) size 5US (3.75 mm) for hem ruffle (or .25 mm bigger than gauge needle)
