Knitting pattern for Vesterhav shawl.
In our raw and wild yarn, Önling No 9, we have designed a shawl that is perfectly suited to saltwater sprays from the North Sea, closeness to nature, and life in general. The somewhat rugged look of the shawl is softened by pretty buttons scattered all over the texture. To top it all, the shawl is bordered by a beautiful Hapsaalu lace pattern originating from the old Estonian knitting tradition, which realized in our yarns Önling No 9 and 10 combines simplicity with airy and beautiful, traditional lace knit. We also designed a matching sweater, featuring the same button pattern, materials and color variants as this shawl.
The Vesterhav shawl can also be knit in Önling No 1, merino wool og angora, with Silk Mohair, which creates a lighter and softer version of the design.

250 g Önling No 1, 75% Superfine Wool Super 100´s, 25% Selected Angora, 180 m / 197 yards per 50 g
125 g Önling No 10, 70% Mohair, 30% Silk, 25 g = 210 meter.
The entire shawl is worked with one strand of each color A+B held together.
Recommended circular needlesize 6 / US 10.
Gauge: 15 sts og 20 rows in button pattern on needle size 6 / US 10 = 10×10 cm / 2.5×2.5 inches.
