Tweed Set knitting pattern

Description

A longer, refined pair of fingerless mitts in three sizes (S/M/L) to knit in a houndstooth textured fabric with buttoned cuff. Feminine in a pastel colorway, they easily transition to a tailored favorite when knit in a neutral or undyed shade. Choosing a luster wool yarn or a blend with some silk will enhance the subtle fabric texture. This project is a relaxing, easy to work knit that produces a sophisticated finished look. Matching Motifs: Natty Cap, Natty Cowl

Suggested Yarns: 
Confection Sport, Shetlandia Sport, Targhee Tango Sport, Modern Deco Sport, Finn Dandy 3-ply Sport, Jacob Sport, Stone Soup DK, Better Breakfast DK, or any soft DK/light worsted yarn that knits to pattern gauge. Substituting yarn and/or needles will result in an overall variation in size and drape.

Finished Size: 

5.5(6.5, 7.5) inches in circumference to fit hands measuring up to 6.5(7.5, 8.5) inches around

Yarn Requirements: 

125(150, 175) yards for longer lengths shown

Buttons: 

4 flat buttons that are approximately .375 inch in diameter

Gauge: 

24 sts and 36 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on smaller needles

Needles: 

size 3US (3.25 mm) DPNs or size to obtain correct gauge

size 4US (3.5 mm) circular needle for hem or .25 mm larger than gauge needle
