Cushy-textured, nice fitting hat worked in a brioche-style seed stitch, with ribbed border and impeccably shaped crown.
Stone Hollow hat is knitted seamlessly in the round from ribbed border to crown.
Sizing: Ribbing is 17.5″ around, hat is 19″ around and 7.5 (8.5)” tall, to fit a woman’s (man’s) head snugly.
Substitute any wool or wool blend yarn that work nicely to gauge: 130 (150) yd.
Needles: Size 7 US / 4.5 mm circular needles and double-pointed needles (dpn) for hat, size 6 US / 4.0 mm for ribbing. Adjust needle sizes if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.
Notions: Stitch marker, tapestry needle.
Gauge: 15 sts and 40 rows = 4″ in pattern stitch on larger needles, 16 sts and 40 rows = 4″ in horizontally fully stretched
