Description
Inspired by the yarn, Milburn from Eden Cottage, a lovely blend of BFL & silk, spun & dyed in the UK.
Also inspired by Unwind Brighton & the nearby Seven Sisters.
Like sisterhood, it’s not entirely uncomplicated – Sister Syster goes sideways & increases toward the centre, before tapering off again.
The sample is elegantly elongated, but the shape is easy to change. (Suggestions are given for how to knit a shorter and/or wider shawl.)
Sister cables envelope the textured grid of the body, holding things together throughout, until the very end where they merge.
There’s a nice, intuitive rhythm to it all. After a repeat or two you’ll be able to knit with abandon without need for charts or written instructions – both are included, as are photo tutorials for the unusual beginning & end, & other helpful things.
