Beginner friendly, Kogin is a traditional Japanese embroidery technique that is a type of sashiko stitching that uses short horizontal running stitches to create beautiful geometric patterns. Kogin hails from the sashiko traditions of northern Japan, but unlike sashiko (a technique to repair, reinforce, and mend the worn places and tears on fabric), Kogin is a counted thread technique to create geometric beauty.
