Why are these particular skeins 25% off? Because you might notice a stripey/barberpole effect that comes from one of the four plies taking up the dye differently. This could happen because that one ply is spun slightly tighter or in the opposite direction or has a bit of fiber that doesn’t take up the dye. We wouldn’t qualify these as “seconds”, as the yarn knits up the same as it always does, and the colors are just as beautiful as always- in fact, you might prefer the added dimension this gives your knitted fabric.
