This hat is like a Mini-Wheats; one side is plain and the other one is sugar-coated. The band is worked in the round, then the front and back are worked separately and sewn together at the end.

The sizes roughly correspond to Teen (Adult Small, Adult Large). Choose a size that allows for 2 to 4 inches (5 to 10 cm) of negative ease around the head.
