Description

Motifs lifted from the Art Deco period are combined to create a luxurious surface in this scarf/stole design in three sizes (petite/tall scarf and stole), meant to be worked in a shimmery yarn blend. While the visual effect is complex, the patterns are simple to work, relying on cable tension for movement. Light and dark areas are the result of shifting fabric density. This design is worked in one piece from beginning to end and is easily resized.

This pattern is both written and charted and can be transferred to your Ravelry Library upon request.
Difficulty: Intermediate

Suggested Yarns:
Modern Deco Sport (sample shown), Stone Soup Fingering,  Modern Deco Fingering, Better Breakfast Fingering, Chebris Lace, Hempshaugh Fingering, or any fingering yarn blend with a silky hand that knits to pattern gauge 

Substituting yarn and/or needles may result in an overall variation in size, drape, and yardage requirement.

Finished Size: 
10(13, 20) inches wide and 60(72, 72) inches in length

Yarn Requirements:
450(800, 1200) yards

Gauge: 
22 sts and 31 rows = 4 inches in stockinette on smaller needle (unwashed, unblocked)

Needles: size 6US (4.0 mm) for scarf body (or size to obtain correct gauge)size 7US (4.5 mm) for lower and upper hems (or .5 mm larger than gauge needle)
