The .86 type “Restoration Yarn” is a coarse, bulky single type yarn that was originally created for weaving.
It is based on the hard-spun yarn used in Navajo rugs from the early 20th century. It is named after a fragment of a Crystal “storm pattern” plate from the JB Moore era.
This yarn has been used by weavers of various cultural backgrounds for a range of projects, including selvage weaving on vertical looms, hand-woven paneled rugs on European-style horizontal looms, and guitar straps on power looms.
