Where I live on Cape Cod a “wash ashore” is a person who wasn’t born and raised here on the cape, but one who, like myself, was brought in with the tides and moved here from somewhere else. This sweater, designed for that namesake, is knit from the top down in the round and features a ribbed and eyelet yoke. The body is cropped making it perfect for layering over dresses and jumpsuits.
